I am endorsing Monique Kaldy for Mayor of Monterey because she truly listens to all of her constituents. Unfortunately, the current mayor has not demonstrated the same commitment. When a significant portion of his constituents voiced concerns over the rental registry, he proceeded in a way that felt dismissive and unbalanced. As a lifelong resident of Monterey, I had hoped for leadership that represented everyone in our community. I initially supported him, believing he would bring fairness, but I have been deeply disappointed. Monique Kaldy stands for inclusivity and transparency, and that’s why I’m casting my vote for her. Additionally , I worked 15 years for the City of Monterey and my husband retired after 38 years working for the City of Monterey.
